Introduction: While we were still sinners Christ died for us. He gave his life for us. But, he didn't ask us to do a hard thing. He assigned us the Great Commission: to preach all nations (Matthew 28:19-20), to be his witness (Acts 1:8). That is the point of our living in this world.

1. I am not ashamed for Christ (Romans 1:16; Acts 22:4-21; Matthew 10:32). Paul was accused of breaking the Law of Moses and teaching others. He defended well, and his defense focused that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, the Messiah, the Righteous One, and the Son of God.

2. God has chosen us (verse 14). When God chose Moses, He identified Himself as the God of their fathers. The same God chose Paul. We do not choose Christ but Christ has chosen us (John 15:16). We are chosen on the basis of God's foreknowledge, on grace and on love.

3. Why God chose Paul? In order to know the will of God (verse 14). What is the will of God? What is God's will for Paul? To be the apostle to the Gentiles. To bring the Gentiles to Jesus Christ (from darkness to the light of God).

Conclusion: God's will for us: to pray without cession, to give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thes 8:18-19) To be fruitful (John 15:16), to live a holy life (1 The 4:3; 1 Pet 2:11-12), to bring people to Christ (1 Tim 4:8).
