Introduction: Our faith is built on the resurrection of Jesus. No gods had ever risen from the death in human history; but only Jesus Christ has risen from the death and lives forever. Resurrection of Christ is the most wonderful truth of the world history.

1. The first good news of resurrection, "do not be afraid." The women and the disciples of Jesus were deeply grieved, frightened by the death of Jesus. They also afraid the Jewish leaders. In times of sorrow and fear, a mighty angel of the Lord came, and assured them "do not be afraid." Also Jesus' first word after his resurrection was "peace be with you" (John 20). In the midst of our troubles, God gently speaks to us "do not be afraid."

2. To rejoice over Christ's resurrection. If our beloved one recovered from sickness, we are filled with joy, the calamity, death and tragedy, we wish, all that happened were just a dream. They had a great hope in Jesus; all their hope, their effort and enthusiasm were finished at the point of Jesus death. Now the news of Jesus' resurrection revived their hope and enthusiasm.

3. Resurrection is the foundation of our faith. As Christ promise many times, he rose again on the third day. Without resurrection, we will not be saved even if we believe. Resurrection made possible our salvation and transformation.

Let us rejoice in Christ, because his resurrection finishes our suffering, hopelessness, helplessness and statelessness. Because of his resurrection, our faith (and our life) is meaningful. Amen!
