Receive the King Jesus Christ in your heart
Matthew 2:1-12
Introduction: Jesus looks at your heart. Do you open your heart for Jesus? Do you have prepared the throne of your heart for Jesus?
-
Christmas is burdensome for King Herod. Christmas brings joy and peace to the world, but Herod was terrified and disturbed by the coming of Jesus. Why? Because he concerned only this worldly things. He was crazy for his power and wealth. Like the inn in Jerusalem, there was no room for Jesus in Herod’s heart.
-
Knowing is about Jesus is not enough. The religious leaders knew about the birth of Messiah and expected the coming of the Messiah. But, their heart was not open for Christ. They told Herod where to find the new king, but didn’t care enough to investigate for themselves. They knew the truth but did nothing about it (rejected the truth).
-
Receive Jesus as your King. The Maggi received Jesus as their king; they worshipped him with their gifts. They were overjoyed, feeling that their living is worth and meaningful. They gave him what they had the best.
Conclusion: Receive Jesus in your heart. He is coming to give us peace, joy and success.
