Mutual Support and Edification

Romans 14:10-23

Introduction: From Romans chapter 12, we have been talking about the change that should occur in the life of a believer. Love in action (12), to put the armor of the light, Jesus Christ (13), and now to support each other, and to help the weak.

  1. Do not judge others (12). If one of our brothers and sisters is weak, we should not judge them (because we all are sinners, and God is the only Judge). Buy rather, we should help and pray for him/her. We all are accountable to God.

  2. Mutual edification (19). We all are parts of the body in Jesus Christ. We should not attack or against each other. We have different gifts and qualities, but we all are equally important. If part of the body suffers, the whole body also suffers. Therefore, we have a mutual edification.

  3. We should do everything by faith (23). Whatever we do, that should not cause our brother or sister fall. We should seek peace and harmony among us. We should submit ourselves as an instrument for God’s glory. We do everything by faith.

Conclusion: Let us live a life worthy of the Gospel; let us live a life worthy of our salvation. Christ is working in us to do God’s will (Eph. 4:1; Phi. 1:27; 2:12-13). Let us live for God’s glory. Amen!
