Helping others to find salvation and healing of Jesus Christ
Luke 5:17-26
Introduction: We can see a very impressive story in Luke chapter 5; about the strong faith of some men who bring the paralyzed to the feet of Jesus. This story challenges us that we should bring people to the feet of Christ to find hope, healing and salvation. We can learn some spiritual insights from these men of faith.
1. Compassion. As these men see this paralyzed man, they have a compassion and kindness. The heart of compassion and kindness lead them do anything for the paralyzed man. We are true believers who belong to Jesus. We should have compassion and kindness to others: neighbors, the needy and the sick.
2. A strong faith. All their actions are the evidence of their faith. Without this strong faith they cannot do a foolish act-breaking the roof & putting down the man to the feet of Jesus. They did because they have faith that Jesus is the Son of God, and Jesus can heal this man. Faith is tested by obstacles but a true and strong faith always overcomes obstacles.
3. Persistence. They do not give up their helping process easily when they face obstacles. Finally they see God's miracle and glory. It teaches us to be patient and do our best when we help others.
4. Love in action. They just not merely pray…they pray, they care, they help, & they prove their love in action.
Conclusion: Our Lord Jesus saved us from sin and destruction. We are called to live for God's glory (not for selfishness and greediness). We should bring people to the feet of Christ to fine hope, salvation and healing. Amen!
