God’s wonderful plan for you

Ephesians 1:3-14

Introduction: The letter of Ephesians tells us the marvelous plan of God for believers in Jesus Christ. God’s plan is better than our imagination. God is working for us better than we can ask and we can imagine (Eph. 3:20). What is God’s plan for us?

  1. God’s plan is a blessing for us (3). God is the source of all blessings. Apart from God we have no good things (Psalm 16:2).  God blessed us with all spiritual blessings. The blessing is: (a) spiritual; (b) in the heavenly place (or) heavenly; (c) and the blessings come to us through and by Jesus Christ.

  2.  God’s plan is our salvation. (a) God chose us before the foundation of the world. The reasons, why? No reason, no condition. He chose us by grace (no human merit), by His will, and His good purposes. (b) God adopted us to be the heirs. We are born to God’s family. Adoption here means placing us to be heirs—receiving all privileges from God. (c) God sealed us to be his own. We belong to God forever; no enemies can snatch from the hand of God.

  3. God’s plan is ultimately to glorify Him.  Salvation is not the ultimate plan of God for us. He wants us to enjoy his spiritual blessings; then He wants us to enjoy the intimate fellowship with God and ultimately God’s plan is to glorify Him.

Conclusion: We are highly favored by God. By grace we are chosen, adopted, sealed and saved. Let us enjoy all spiritual blessings, and let’s live for God’s glory.Amen!
