Introduction: As we talked last week, Romans 12 to 16 focus on the change which should occur in the life of a believer. Romans 12 talks about love in action. Now, 13 continue to put love in action; to set aside the work of darkness and to put on the armor of light or to put on Christ.

1. Understand the present time (11-12). Things happening around us always remind us the coming of our LORD. This is the time to wake up. From what? Sleep of ignorance, laziness, sin, unbelief, and flesh gratification. The day of the LORD is near; our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

2.  Set aside the deeds of darkness (13). We belong to the light (Jesus Christ) therefore, we should put aside all the deeds of darkness—immorality, jealousy, debauchery, etc.

3. Clothe yourselves with Jesus Christ. Our enemies are not flesh but destructive powers. Therefore we must put on the armor of the light. We must clothe ourselves with Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ alone is our defense, our shield and salvation.

Conclusion: Since we have been transformed in Christ, we should live in and by Jesus Christ. We should walk in the light for God’s glory. Amen!
