Introduction: Ephesians 1:15-23 is the prayer of Paul for Ephesians. His prayer focuses the most important things in the life of a believer.
1. To know Jesus Christ fully. Jesus knows us by name. We also need to know him intimately. Know how Jesus is good to us, faithful, merciful, powerful to us. To know Jesus is the key to joy, peace and success.
2. To know the greatness of our calling. We are called out of darkness (sin) into the light of Christ. We are made holy and righteous. We are called to inherit all the riches of his glorious inheritance.
3. To experience Christ. Knowing is not the ultimate purpose or blessings for believers; but we are called to practically experience Christ, his power and all his blessings. How? (a) We need to have a “great desire.” (b) We must know (by focusing and reading). (c) We must have faith.
Conclusion: We have the greatest privilege and right in Jesus Christ. We need to fully enjoy our right and blessing given to us in Christ. Have a strong faith to experience Christ, his power and blessing. Amen!
