Introduction:     This is the prayer of Hannah. Hannah, by the wisdom and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, exactly reveals the nature and attributes of our God.

1. God is our salvation (v 1). No other gods can save us from our sin; only our God saved us from sin and all troubles. Therefore, we must rejoice in the LORD. Horn is a symbol of power—the Lord gives us power and we can boldly proclaim the great things he did.

2. God is holy and He is our Rock (v 2). The LORD is holy, thus he is worthy to receive worship, honor and trust. He is also the Rock, the anchor of our souls.

3. God is the source of wisdom; he knows all our hearts and our deeds (v 3). God is always watching you and crediting your deeds. And he is ready to reward you.

4. God is the provider & the author of life (4-8). God has the authority to bring death and make alive; to humble the proud and to exalt the humble and the poor. He raises us from the dust, and makes us inherit the throne of honor and princes.

5. God protects and directs the way of his people (9-10).

Conclusion: Since we have the great and faithful God, we need to put our full trust in him, and experience who our God is, which will lead us to see God’s glory.
